Originally from Los Angeles, USA, I hold an MSc in Molecular Medicine (distinction) from TCD and a B.S. in Biology from Loyola Marymount University. I previously worked with the Spanish Ministry of Education as a North American Language and Cultural Assistant, supporting bilingual education in Madrid. At Trinity, I revitalized and now lead the Reproductive Justice Society (a chapter of Medical Students for Choice), where I established sustainable systems and championed advocacy for women’s health and reproductive rights, growing it into one of the most active special-interest medical societies on campus. I am also a contributing writer for The PULSE, Trinity’s medical school newspaper, and currently engaged in cervical cancer screening research at The Coombe Hospital. Outside of medicine, I enjoy traveling, exploring new recipes in the kitchen, hiking, Salsa dancing, and West Coast Swing dancing. I am excited to contribute to AMSI’s mission of empowering medical students and strengthening our collective voice for health equity.

My academic interests lie in orthopaedic surgery, paediatric research, and global health education, and I have completed clinical placements in Ireland, the US, and Tanzania. Vice president of Finance (VPF)
Joshua Mikhail
Hi! I’m a fourth-year medical student at RCSI, originally from Toronto. I’m passionate about international health; medical mission trips have shown me how different systems solve the same problems with creativity, and they’ve made me eager to bring those lessons back to Ireland. I’m also big on mentorship and student advocacy: through ICHAMS I’ve helped peers launch research projects, and as a student mentor I support juniors with study strategy and exam planning so they feel backed, not isolated. On the research side, I’ve authored several published reviews, presented at international conferences, and participated in RCSI’s Research Summer School—my interests sit at the intersection of medical education and public health. This year I’m stepping in as AMSI’s Vice President for Finance. I enjoy the finance side of student organisations and I’m excited to help secure funding that powers training, exchanges, and student-led projects across Ireland. I’m optimistic about the year ahead and about strengthening Ireland’s voice within the IFMSA community.
Vice President of Sponsorship (VPS)

Within the student community, I have served as Treasurer of the Pakistani Society (PakSoc) for two years, focusing on sourcing funding and supporting cultural and student-led events. This role strengthened my passion for collaboration, cultural exchange, and representing student voices. Outside of medicine, I enjoy cricket, badminton, and mountain biking. As Vice President for Sponsorship, I look forward to building partnerships that support AMSI’s work and fund opportunities of career development, research, and mentorship for medical students across Ireland.

Co-National officer for training and capacity building (NOCB)
Eva Baumann
I’m a second-year medical student at the University of Limerick with a background in podiatry. Before medicine, I worked in private practice diagnosing and treating musculoskeletal injuries of the foot and ankle. I continue to run a small podiatry business alongside my studies, focusing on patient-centred care and community connection. Balancing both has strengthened my appreciation for teamwork, empathy, and accessible healthcare. I’m passionate about volunteering and global health. In rural Tanzania, I provided essential wound care with The Olive Branch for Children, an experience that deepened my commitment to sustainable outreach. At home, I volunteer with Children in Hospital Ireland and NOVAS, supporting vulnerable communities. During my Podiatric Medicine degree, I was elected class representative, developing skills in advocacy, leadership, and communication. Having tutored students in clinical settings, I value peer learning and collaboration as essential to capacity building. As Co-National Officer for Capacity Building, I hope to empower Irish medical students through shared learning, mentorship, and leadership development. Outside of medicine, I love travelling and playing piano—two things that help me find balance and inspiration.
National Officer for Medical Education (NOME)
Victoria Koziarz
I’m a second-year medical student at the University of Limerick and Co-Chief of the Health Equity Program, where I help lead initiatives promoting awareness and collaboration around healthcare disparities. Before medicine, I earned a B.Sc. in Neuroscience at the University of Alberta, where I studied neuroendocrine-immune interactions in chronic pain and worked to expand student access to neurotechnology through academic and professional partnerships. My work at a pregnancy care centre, experiences with neurodiverse families, and volunteering with refugees at the Polish-Ukrainian border have shown me the barriers that shape access to care. These experiences deepened my commitment to promoting empathy, equity, and accessibility within healthcare. Through AMSI, I hope to strengthen collaboration among Irish medical schools, support Local Officers, and advocate for education that reflects community needs. I aim to amplify underrepresented student voices and bridge local and global perspectives on health equity. Outside of medicine, I’m a singer who finds joy in using music to connect with others.

I’m a final-year medical student from UCD with a keen interest in palliative care, care of the older person, and global health. Previously, I served as the Design Officer for the UCD Student Medical Journal, where I led the design and formatting of the publication, and I have lots of experience working with Communications and Public Relations in many different university organisations, both within medicine and also in the wider community. Vice President for External Affairs Assistant (VPE-A)
Sarah Mackel
I’m a second-year Graduate Entry Medicine student at UCD, with a passion for public speaking and advocacy. I graduated with a BSc (Hons) from the University of St Andrews in 2024, where my dissertation focused on sustainably scaling ophthalmology departments in sub-Saharan Africa. Some of my first year in Dublin was spent volunteering with a nonprofit as a content writer, where I got to travel to conferences in Lithuania, Germany, and Latvia following the work of a group preparing a policy paper on AI integration in Latvia’s healthcare system. This gave me the chance to travel to the Latvian parliament and write about the experience, as well as understand European healthcare systems and their regulatory landscapes from up close. I’ve previously also been a youth delegate to the Council of Europe’s Congress of Local and Regional authorities, and am currently a youth delegate to the UNFCCC. As you can guess, I love travelling: outside of Germany, France, and the Baltics, I also spent my summer in Uganda as part of a UCD research project, and am excited to be heading to Brazil this November to represent my home country at the UN’s Conference of Parties (COP30). I’m excited to help build AMSI back up and connect medical students in Ireland with our colleagues all over the world!
