Kevin McMahon

Hailing from Dublin, Kevin McMahon moved west after his Leaving Certificate and completed Medical School at NUI Galway.

A thoroughly enjoyable five years in Galway included plenty of GAA and provided the opportunity to participate in NUIG Medical Society activities, which opened the door to becoming a part of AMSI. During this period, and while working as an intern, Kevin was lucky enough to participate in four IFMSA General Assemblies and was a part of the delegation that saw AMSI become full members of IFMSA in Tanzania in 2017.

Working across various surgical specialties for four years, Kevin completed a Master of Public Health, an MBA, and became a Diplomate member of the Faculty of Public Health Medicine before entering the Midwest General Practice Training Scheme.

Kevin is currently a 4th Year GP Registrar in West Clare and maintains a keen interest in GAA, hiking, and travel, with aspirations to work in both GP and Public Health spheres in the future.
