Sub-Regional Trainings (SRTs)
What is a Sub-regional training?

A Sub-Regional Training (SRT) is a capacity-building initiative designed to empower medical students across a specific region through hands-on workshops and training sessions. Organized under the umbrella of the International Federation of Medical Students’ Associations (IFMSA), SRTs bring together passionate students from neighboring countries to learn, grow, and connect.
SRTs offer a unique opportunity to:
Gain practical skills and knowledge in key areas such as project management, leadership, and advocacy.
Enhance your soft skills like communication, teamwork, and conflict resolution.
Explore critical global health topics including Disaster Medicine, HIV/AIDS, Human Rights, Non-Communicable Diseases, and more.
These trainings are more than just workshops—they are transformational experiences. SRTs help you:
Build your capacity to lead and implement impactful projects.
Exchange experiences with like-minded students from different cultures.
Become a change-maker in your community and beyond.
Capacity building is the backbone of AMSI and IFMSA. It’s how we share our knowledge, support each other’s growth, and strengthen the work we do globally.
Where can training take place?
If you are a trainer and get selected to train abroad through IFMSA, you may be given full cover of expenses
