Kai Arun Prasath

I’m Kailash, a final-year medical student from Singapore in the Direct Entry programme at University College Cork. I currently serve as Chairperson of the AMSI Cork chapter, where I work with an incredible team of students. I have a strong interest in robotic surgery and its role in shaping the future of healthcare. Beyond medicine, I love spending time in the gym and exploring new food spots. I am excited to continue working with the AMSI national chapter and to contribute to shaping its future for medical students across Ireland.

Maheen Junaid

I am a fourth-year medical student at University College Cork (UCC) with a strong enthusiasm for student-led initiatives and advocacy. At UCC, I have had the opportunity to be involved in numerous societies, allowing me to take on various roles and enjoy the initiative of taking on many different responsibilities, including those in Paksoc, Cancer Soc, Dermatology Society, Medical Research and Technology Society, North American Irish Student Association, and AMSI. I have a passion for research centered on women’s health, as I have worked in clinical research focused on the disparities affecting women, which often leads to underdiagnosis and undertreatment in the cardiovascular field. Additionally, I have successfully conducted research in dermatology and some more cardiology! I studied Biomedical Sciences for a year at the University of Ottawa, where I was on the Dean's List. I am very community-oriented and deeply engaged in my small hometown, having served as an ambassador for an organization encouraging physicians to practice rural medicine. I have also worked at my local hospital and completed observerships to give back to my community. Outside of medicine and my commitments, I can often be found holding a makeup brush and an iced latte.
